Charles "YoYo" Burkett co-Hosts the
morning zoo with hot rod from 6 to 10 am and hosts the afternoon show from 3 to 7 pm
Born in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX, 'YO YO' developed a love for radio and music in San Angelo, TX. His passion continued in Lewisville and later in Abilene, where he studied communications with a focus on radio.
Charles interned at 94.5 The Edge and, years later, studied at the University of North Texas’s Mayborn School of Journalism, working at KNTU as a news radio announcer. After graduating, he moved to Monroe, LA, to work at KNOE, where he contributed to the “Feed Your Soul” segment, highlighting local businesses and culture.
'YO YO' has lived in Ouachita Parish for four years and continues his work with Wild Country Online radio, celebrating Northeast Louisiana’s people, places, food, and musicians.
TRIVIA & FACTS
Charles' nickname Yo-Yo, was given to him by a friend when she saw him playing with a yo-yo at Enoch’s Pub in Monroe.
He has two sons, whom he loves.
At age 25, 'YO YO' went to chef school and is an award winning trained chef, which is the basis for his love of food.
